This course invites the students to explore, experience and analyse architecture and urban design in the Upper Rhine region.

Programme for 2026-27, Winter semester:

Following an introductory session in the heart of Strasbourg’s historic centre, the tour will continue over the course of the semester on both sides of the Rhine, exploring sites of iconic architectural and urban design: Neuf-Brisach in France, the Vitra design campus in Germany, and the city of Stuttgart in Germany.

For each visit, students will be asked to produce a personal report, recounting their experience and the memories they wish to capture. The format of these reports will vary depending on the location and the student: photography, oral accounts, drawings, written texts, videos, etc. The aim is to encourage multiple perspectives, perceptions and forms of expression that, collectively, could be exhibited in the School to create a dialogue between current experiences and the historical narratives of the various sites, inviting the ENSAS community to continue this adventure.

Precise dates for the visits are given at the start of the semester.
